PhD Fellowship in Health Sciences

Plymouth University is seeking a highly motivated PhD student with an interest in health sciences. The funding is only available for European students. The deadline for applying is March 02, 2015.

The Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine Dentistry (PU PSMD) are seeking to attract PhD candidates of outstanding ability to join their exciting and rapidly expanding programme of internationally-rated research.

The stipend will be £ 14,057 (based on full time 14/15 rate). Tuition fees will be paid at the home/EU rate. The position is open to UK citizens and EU citizens with appropriate qualifications who have been resident or studied in the UK for three years.

Application Requirements
As part of The Collaboration of the Advancement of Medical Education Research Assessment (CAMERA), a leading centre for medical education research, within PU PSMD, this National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funded PhD Studentship invites applications from suitably qualified graduates, with an undergraduate degree of 2:1 or above (or Masters) in any area of social science or health services research. Experience with social research methods or data visualization will be desirable but not essential.

The start date for the studentship will be preferably 1st April 2015 although it can be delayed until 1st October 2015. This NIHR funded PhD studentship will use quantitative and qualitative methodologies to develop a method of measuring social interactions and connections to explore and quantify relationships in clinical teams as part of a MSF process. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic group of academics, who are leaders in their field, developing mixed methodological expertise.
