University of Oslo is offering a Research Jobs position. The deadline for applying this position is on January 16, 2015.

The Institute of Clinical Medicine, Division of Internal Medicine and Laboratory Medicine, has a vacant position as Professor of Molecular Medicine. The Department of Clinical Molecular Biology, Division of Internal Medicine and Laboratory Medicine at Akershus University Hospital, is a joint research facility between Akershus University Hospital and the University of Oslo, Faculty of Medicine.

The goal of the Department is to integrate high-quality basic and clinical research at a high international level. The Department has a modern, well-equipped research laboratory that is used for basic research as well as for clinical molecular biology relevant for major disease groups. Research areas in the Department include genomic instability, breast cancer genomics, colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, microbiota, heart failure, neurodegenerative diseases, genomics and biostatistics.

Application Requirements
The candidate should have a research profile complementary to other research areas in the department or that will strengthen the Department 's molecular research within the major disease groups (cancer, neurodegeneration, cardiovascular diseases) or aging, with potential to exploit the opportunities inherent in the large, unselected patient base at Akershus University Hospital.

Applicants should preferentially hold an MD, but may have an educational background from other natural sciences. Applicants who are not competent in Norwegian, Swedish or Danish must acquire such competence within two years subsequent to their appointment, and must be competent in English in the interim period.
