PhD studentship in Modelling Congenital Heart

University of Auckland has an opening PhD scholarship in computer science. The duration of this scholarship is 3 years. Citizens of any country are eligible to apply.

We are looking for a talented and motivated PhD candidate to work on finite element modelling, motion tracking and image registration of patients with severe congenital heart disease at the University of Auckland, New Zealand.We have funding from the National Institutes of Health, USA, to fully cover the PhD expenses. This project will continue the development of bi ventricular finite element model to personally fit to follow the movement of patient's heart derived from cardiac MRI.

Application Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in biomedical engineering or computer science or computer vision background, and excellent communication and writing skills. Programming skills, such as Matlab, C/C++ and/or Python, are essential. The successful application will need to be able to travel to meet with our collaborators at the University of California San Diego on several occasions during the project.
