PhD Scholarship in Health Sciences

University of East Anglia is offering a PhD scholarship in Health Sciences. The deadline for applying this position is on January 26, 2015.

This PhD project will focus on making sure that this new pathway is followed, by looking at how training for hospital staff is translated into what actually happens on a ward. We will look at how the people involved, the ward environment and the training itself may help staff to deliver new guidelines, improve staff effort and how well they feel they can manage dementia.

The student will interview staff, people with dementia and their families, and use participatory workshops with staff and trainers to develop a new training model. This will lead to better training for hip fracture and dementia care, and a better understanding of how to train healthcare staff in other areas related to dementia. This will lead to better care for people with dementia when they are in hospital and better outcomes once they leave.
