PhD Research Fellow at University of Oslo

University of Oslo is offering a PhD position in biology. The duration of this scholarship is 3 years to 4 years. This position is open only for Norwegian students. Applications are invited up to February 04, 2015.

University of Oslo is inviting application for doctoral fellowship. Up to 10 positions as PhD Research Fellow are available at The Faculty of Dentistry. The positions are associated with the following research areas: Biofilm, Biomaterials, tissue engineering and regeneration, Health promotion and disease prevention, Craniofacial biology.

Salary based on pay grade 50 – 58, from NOK 429 400 to NOK 491 100 pr year.

The Fellowships are for a period of up to 4 years, with compulsory work constituting 25 % of the workload. Alternatively they are for 3 years without any compulsory work.

Application Requirements
Applicants must hold a Master ’s degree equivalent to a Norwegian Master ’s degree in the relevant field of research. If the position is affiliated with one of the clinics at the Institute of Clinical Dentistry the applicant must have Norwegian authorisation as Dentist or Dental Hygienist.

Academic qualifications, development potential, personal suitability and collaborative skills will receive special attention in the selection process. Applicants with experience in the field of dentistry may be preferred. The successful candidate will either work at the Institute of Clinical Dentistry or theDepartment of Oral Biology.

The applicant is required to establish contact with the relevant research group/supervisor to draw up a project description. The fellowship requires admission to the PhD programme at the Faculty of Dentistry.

- Project description along with a plan for project execution and funding.
- A statement / recommendation from the supervisor describing his or her role in the project. Application form for admission to the PhD programme.
- Curriculum Vitae (summarising education, previous positions and academic work together with a complete list of publications).
- 2 letters of recommendation, and 2 additional references, with address, telephone number, email and relationship stated.
- Certified copies of certificates and academic diplomas.
- If the original language is not English or a Scandinavian language, an English language translation must be provided in addition to a copy of the original.
